Two one-loss teams joined the Super 25 boys basketball rankings this week: No. 24 Franklin, Ohio (20-1) and No. 25 Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia), which is 22-1.

Franklin is led by Duke signee Luke Kennard, who is No. 3 on Ohio’s all-time leading scorers list behind Jay Burson of John Glenn (New Concord) and Jon Diebler, who finished his career with Upper Sandusky. Franklin defeated Eaton 104-43 as Kennard had 39 points and Carlisle 80-46 as Kennard had 38. Franklin’s only loss was to former Super 25 team Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) in the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Neumann-Gorettti’s only defeat was a three-point loss to previous Super 25 team Roman Catholic (Philadelphia). Last week,  Zane Martin had 20 points and nine rebounds in an 88-57 defeat of Father Judge (Philadelphia) in the Saints’ only game.

Two Super 25 teams dropped out. Previous No. 21 Cardozo (Bayside, N.Y.), which was upset by the school of Construction, Trades, Engineering and Architecture (Ozone Park) and No. 25 Garfield (Seattle), which suffered its first loss, to Rainier Beach (Seattle). The Bulldogs only fell to No. 27.

Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) remains No. 1 followed by Montverde (Fla.) Academy and St. Vincent-St. Mary’s (Akron, Ohio). DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, Md.) lost 69-65 last week To Bishop McNamara (Forestville, Md.) and drops from No. 4 to No. 6.
