The Freedom softball team rolled to an Eastern Valley Conference doubleheader sweep over Berlin on Friday, winning the first game 10-0 and taking the nightcap 16-1.

Cassidy Schuh pitched the Irish to a shutout win in five innings in the first game, with five strikeouts and two hits allowed.

Samantha Schumacher and Ashley Kurey each scored two runs and had two hits, including a home run, for Freedom. Schumacher had four RBI while Kurey had two.

Nicole Klitzke and Ashley Zimmerman also had two hits each for the Irish.

The second game was over after three innings as Megan LeClair struck out four batters and allowed only one hit.

Zimmerman led the way for Freedom offensively as she went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.

Kurey, Samantha Sheriff and Lori Meyer also had multiple RBI for the Irish.

Vanessa Buman had a three-run home run and drove in four runs in the second game.

At Shawano, Erin Cerveny had eight RBI in the two games to lift the Hawks to the doubleheader sweep.

Jayci Mansfield and Julia Rhodes each had three hits in the second game for Menasha, while Rhodes had a home run and five RBI.
