Two Shore Conference girls soccer players have been selected to play in the Third Annual High School All-American Girls Soccer game on December 5, 2015 in Raleigh, N.C.
Rutgers-bound Freehold Township senior midfielder Nicole Whitley (18 goals, 14 assists this season) and Rutgers-bound Colts Neck senior defender Amanda Visco (five goals, one assist this season) were picked amongst 40 seniors to play for the east team at 4 p.m. at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, N.C. Whitley was selected to play forward in this game while Visco will be one of the defenders.
The All-American Girls Soccer game is being held the same weekend and in close proximity to the NCAA Women’s Soccer Division 1 Championships in Cary, NC on December 4 and 6. Whitley and Visco will arrive on December 3, 2015 and attend the NCAA Women’s Soccer Division 1 Semifinals on December 4 before playing in the High School All-American Girls Soccer game on December 5 and then attend the NCAA Women’s Soccer Division 1 Final on December 6.
Other participants in the game from New Jersey include Northern Highlands girls soccer coach Tara Madigan and the following players: Ridge defender Erin Convery (Boston College) playing for the West team and East team members Monroe goalie Erin Steppi (Maryland), Eastern defender Jaylyn Thompson (Virginia Tech), Northern Highlands defender Morgan Busacca (Fordham), Northern Highlands midfielder Casey Richards (Georgetown) and Immaculate Heart midfielder Sophia Gulati (Princeton).
