Damonte Ranch quarterback Drake Vestbie throws against North Valleys on Friday.

It was a night of blowouts in Friday’s high school football action in Northern Nevada.

For Division I teams, it was the chance for a final tune-up before league games begin next week. But in all but one case, it was only one team of the two on the field which looked ready for the transition.

Reed, Carson, Reno and Damonte Ranch all won by huge margins. Galena and McQueen played the night’s only back-and-forth game in Division I, with the Grizzlies taking a 28-17 win.

There were more big scores in the lower divisions, too. Fallon, Fernley and Yerington all scored big wins. In Division I-A, Spring Creek went on the road to pick up a key win at Wooster, 47-29.
