The Frontier school board will meet Monday for a special session in which members will vote on the recommendation of Jamie Sailors as the new athletic director and transportation director, according to the agenda posted on the school board’s website.
The positions opened after Jennifer Jacoby recently resigned.
Sailors is in his third season as Frontier’s head football coach and currently teaches physical education at Delphi. He is a 1991 Frontier graduate and former Falcon standout athlete.
After one season playing at Parkland College in Illinois, Sailors was drafted as a left-handed pitcher in the 13th round of the 1992 Major League Baseball draft by the St. Louis Cardinals and played three seasons in the minors.
A 1999 graduate of Purdue University, Sailors has served as pitching coach for the Boilermakers, as well as head coaching stints for the baseball programs at Frontier and Harrison. Sailors was the head baseball coach at University of Wisconsin-Platteville for five seasons prior to becoming Purdue’s pitching coach beginning with the 2007 season. He coached Delphi football from 2009-11 before taking over the Frontier program.
A voicemail left for Sailors was not returned.
