Future of the SEC: 5 commits are named Elite 11 quarterbacks

By

The Elite 11 quarterbacks were named Friday night at the end of a weeklong camp at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.

Shane Patterson, an Ole Miss commit from Shreveport, La., had a strong final day and jumped up to be named Most Valuable Player.

Of the 11, five have committed to Southeastern Conference schools in what is not much of a surprise. Two are committed to the ACC and two to the Big Ten, with one of the QBs committed to a Pac-12 school and one to a Big 12 school.

Earlier in the week, Georgia commit Jacob Eason said that the future SEC passers were bonding.

“It’s cool,” Eason said. “We’re building our friendships now so that by the time we play each other, we’re already close, so that we slap five after the game, no matter what happens. The SEC is going to build up to where it was previously, the power conference. ”
