THE WINNER: Reilly Martin
School: Brebeuf Jesuit (Indianapolis, Ind.)
Athletic achievement: She scored 29 goals and passed for 27 assists this past season, leading the Braves (22-1) to the Class 2A Carmel Regional championship game. A 2014 All-American selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, Martin missed Brebeuf’s final two playoff games to attend a training camp with the U.S. Soccer Under-20 Women’s National Team. Ranked as the No. 24 recruit in the Class of 2015 by TopDrawerSoccer.com, she concluded her prep soccer career with 65 goals and 62 assists.
Academic excellence: Martin has maintained a 3.83 GPA.
Exemplary character: The co-president of Brebeuf’s chapter of STRAP (Students Take Responsibility Against Poverty), she has volunteered locally at a facility for adults with special needs and has also donated her time building water filtration systems that were sent to Haiti.
“Reilly Martin just completely dominated every game she played,” said Ramon Aguillon, head coach of Zionsville. “She was far beyond the best player on the field. She is just so talented and dangerous and can score at will basically anytime she wants to.”
THE FUTURE: Martin has signed with Michigan.
