Athletic achievement: She scored 22 goals and passed for eight assists this past season, leading the Warriors (10-9) to the Class AAA state playoffs. Zandi missed the first four games of the regular season while abroad training with the U.S. Soccer Under-17 Women’s National Team in South Korea. A two-time First Team All-Ches-Mont National Team selection, she is ranked as the No. 21 recruit in the Class of 2017 by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
Academic excellence: Zandi has maintained a 4.02 weighted GPA.
Exemplary character: A member of the Henderson High Latin Club, she has volunteered locally as a youth soccer coach.
“Having trained Sydney for the past five years I have been fortunate to watch her develop into one of the top youth players in the country,” said Craig Reed, head coach of Downingtown East. “With her ability to use both feet and her creativity with the ball at her feet, Sydney is one of the most dynamic 1v1 players I have seen in youth soccer.”
