The Gatorade State Volleyball Players of the Year were selected based on athletic production and impact in the 2015-16 season. Each winner also demonstrated high academic achievement and exemplary personal character, including volunteerism, sportsmanship and community leadership.

THE WINNER: Jaiden Farr
School: Morgan High (Utah)
Position: Outside hitter
Athletic achievement: She led the Trojans to a perfect 32-0 record and the Class 3A state championship this past season. Farr recorded 390 kills, 232 digs and 33 service aces. A 2015-16 Under Armour Honorable Mention All-American, she is a two-time All-State honoree and was named Class 3A Player of the Year as a junior.
Academic excellence: Farr has maintained a 4.0 GPA.
Exemplary character: A devoted member of her church community and president of her school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, she has volunteered locally on behalf of the Special Olympics, Operation Christmas Child and youth volleyball programs in addition to fundraising to benefit breast cancer awareness.
“Farr is strong, and she’s very court aware and smart with the ball,” said Jenn Ioane, head coach at Logan High. “She reads blockers well and really knows where and when to place the ball.”
THE FUTURE: Farr has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball on scholarship at Pepperdine University in the fall of 2016.
