DRESDEN – Visiting Sheridan (7-5, 6-1) took advantage of three errors during a four-run third inning and held off a late Tri-Valley rally for a 4-3 Muskingum Valley League win Friday at Kenny Wolford Park.
Gabby Johnson scattered five hits, struck out nine and walked three for a complete game victory and five Generals had a hit in the win. Three of those hits came in the third.
The Scotties (7-3, 3-3) plated a run in the sixth and two in the seventh, but struck out with the tying run on second to end the game.
Lexi Adams allowed five hits, fanned six and walked two to suffer the loss in the circle, Jordan Birkhimer doubled and singled and Brooklyn Smith hit a double for Tri-Valley.
