George Harrelson to be honored at FCA jamboree

The eighth FCA Coaches of Influence Jamboree is scheduled for two sites Saturday, North Greenville University and Daniel High School, according to Greenville County FCA area director Tim Steele.

After the first two halves at North Greenville, Travelers Rest assistant George Harrelson will be honored as this year’s Coach of Influence.

Harrelson, who began his coaching career in 1967, has been a head coach at Riverside and J.L. Mann and an assistant at Andrews, Eastside and Blue Ridge, as well as Travelers Rest. He also served as an assistant at Furman University from 1998 to 2001.

The schedule for the jamboree will be as follows:

At North Greenville University

West Oak vs. St. Joseph’s, 6 p.m.

Walhalla vs. Carolina, 7 p.m.

Seneca vs. Riverside, 8:30 p.m.

Southside vs. Wade Hampton, 9:30 p.m.

At Daniel High School

Christ Church vs. Pickens, 7 p.m.

Southside Christian vs. Liberty, 8 p.m.

Berea vs. Daniel, 9 p.m.
