Girls basketball: Suffern upsets state-ranked Scarsdale

Suffern edged Scarsdale 39-36 Wednesday at Suffern and made a statement within Class AA.

Scarsdale (12-2) was ranked 16th in Class AA in New York State heading into Wednesday’s game.

Brianna Witt led the way for the Mounties (9-5), scoring 18 points. Teammate Caleigh Cahoon added 10.

Lindsay Kramer scored 12 points for the Raiders.

Best of the rest: Sammy Muller had 19 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in Hackley’s 49-43 loss to visiting Poly Prep. … Isabella DePasquale scored 13 points in Ardsley’s 44-24 win over Edgemont as Ardsley improved to 12-0 under coach Marc Hattem. … Isabella Lacarbonara had 11 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks in White Plains’ 58-36 win over Early College. … Ashley Soto had 11 points and five rebounds in Yonkers Montessori’s 31-17 win over Solomon Schechter. … Rye tournament MVP Kayla Correa scored 14 points in New Rochelle’s 56-44 win at Rye. … Amber Feminella had 20 points and 11 rebounds in Hen Hud’s 50-47 win over visiting Panas.
