Granville wins but Newark Catholic earns title

Granville won the final Licking County League event of the season Wednesday at Longaberger Golf Club, but Newark Catholic still claimed the championship.

The Blue Aces totaled 379 to NC’s 387. Watkins Memorial, led by medalist Emily Hayes with 87, was third at 402, followed by Johnstown’s 404, Lakewood had 433 and Licking Valley 445.

Alyssa Newsom led Granville with 90 and Maggie Wolf had 91, while Arianna Long and Morgan Ryan each had 99.

Patricia Windholtz paced NC with 90, Ashley Franks had 94, Hannah Luft 100 and Claudia Crumrine 103.

After Hayes for Watkins, Alexis Cornely posted 101, while Kim Romshe and Chelsea List each had 107.

For Johnstown, Katie Grrunkemeyer shot 91, Gabby Thomas 95, Karleigh Green 104 and Marilyn Piper 119.

Crystal Hanbaum’s 91 paced Lakewood. Bray Wilson added 111, Leah Welker 112 and Brenna Brownfield 119.

For Valley, Morgan Gossett had 97, Casey Chapman 103, Michayla Schmidt 117 and Hailey Cullop 128.
