Receiving goals from nine different Admirals, the Arlington High School girls lacrosse team defeated Clarkstown North, 16-0, in Freedom Plains on Monday.
The shutout was the second of Arlington’s season, and the second in its program’s history.
“The biggest takeaway for us is it’s a good warmup for the rest of the week,” Arlington coach Dan Schmitt said. “The offense got the ball moving today. A lot of girls got a lot of minutes, and that’s always good.”
Abby Carlin had a hat trick and an assist for Arlington, which also received two goals apiece from Taylor Nyberg (two assists), Rosie Debellis, Lizzie Schlissel, Dani Heady and Danielle DiLorenzo. Kaitlyn Sbrollini, Rebecca Campos and Jordan Smith all scored once. For Sbrollini and Campos it was their first career goals.
Maryn Lowell (three saves) and Jenna Cislak (one) split time in goal as Arlington improved to 4-2. The Admirals will visit Carmel Tuesday.
Carmel 13, Our Lady of Lourdes 9 — Cat Gallery scored six goals and made one assist while Meghan Riccardi scored two goals, but the host Warriors fell. Danielle Keenan (one goal, one assist) and Gabby Breault (eight saves) also contributed.
“We’re learning to play together,” Lourdes coach Mike Galantich said. “We’re going through growing pains, but I’m seeing improvement.”
Lourdes (2-3) will welcome John F. Kennedy Catholic Tuesday.
Middletown 9, Highland 4 — Savanna Caso scored half of the host Huskies’ goals, with Sam Mazzella and Julia Quinn also scoring.
Tappan Zee 17, Wappingers 5 — Melissa Milohnic, Ellie Reck, Jessica Lasaponara, Danielle Digiacomo and Jenna Fusco all scored, but Wappingers dropped to 1-3. The Warriors visit Mahopac on Wednesday.
