Sisters Mykassa Robinson and Alexis Robinson had big games to lift the Ashland Blazer High School girls’ basketball team to a 52-50 victory over Mercy on Friday in a quarterfinal of the Republic Bank/Coca-Cola Louisville Invitational Tournament at Bellarmine University’s Knights Hall.
Mykassa Robinson, a freshman, posted 18 points and six rebounds. Alexis Robinson, a senior who has signed with Colorado, added 12 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, four blocks and three steals.
Alexis Robinson’s basket with 24 seconds left gave the Kittens the lead for good, 51-50, with 24 seconds left.
Ashland Blazer (18-4) will face No. 1 Elizabethtown (22-2) at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the semifinals.
MacKenzie Stovall scored 13 points to lead No. 14-ranked Mercy (15-7).
