The Butler High School girls’ basketball team outscored Henderson County 21-5 in the fourth quarter to post a 51-41 victory in Saturday’s semifinals of the Republic Bank/Coca-Cola Louisville Invitational Tournament at Bellarmine University’s Knights Hall.
Bre Torrens posted 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals to lead No. 12-ranked Butler (18-3), which will face the Elizabethtown-Ashland Blazer winner in Saturday’s 8 p.m. championship game. Butler is the defending LIT champion.
Eighth-grader Ashlee Harris added eight points and three steals for the Bearettes.
Kacie Wallace scored 11 points to lead No. 2 Henderson County (20-2), which had its 15-game winning streak snapped and lost to a Kentucky opponent for the first time this season.
DeAsia Outlaw added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Colonels, and Samantha Carter pitched in 10 points.
