Take a look at any box score for the Trinity Christian Academy girls’ basketball team, and there is no question who the leading scorer for the Lady Lions is.
Sophomore Brynne Lytle is averaging 20 points and has 60 assists and 61 steals, as of Thursday.
Through all the defensive schemes that teams try to throw up against her, she continues to be successful on the offensive end of the court.
This past week, Lytle put up 62 points in three games, and the Lady Lions were successful in all three.
Last Saturday, Lytle scored 22 points against an improving McNairy Central team on the road in a five-point win.
TCA then got into District 15-A action. Lytle put up 27 points in a 20-point win over Jackson Christian on Tuesday and added 16 points on Friday in a three-point win over Madison.
The Lady Lions have played a tough schedule thus far this season with games against quality Class A and Class AA teams from across West Tennessee.
TCA ended the Christmas break with consecutive losses to Haywood and Gibson County, ranked No. 4 in Class A, but the three wins this week turned things around.
Lytle’s scoring along with the scoring from all of her teammates will be crucial this week.
The Lady Lions play the heart of their district schedule this week. TCA plays Riverside at home on Tuesday in a matchup between the two teams that are tied for second in 15-A at 4-1.
Middleton, the No. 1 team in Class A, is on Friday at home before the Lady Lions end the week on Saturday against a city-rival in University School of Jackson.

Lannom scored 54 points as the Lady Pioneers picked up three wins in District 14-A play.
Martin scored 55 points in a pair of games against West Carroll and Greenfield.
Joy scored 38 points as the Lady Tigers stayed unbeaten with wins over Riverside and Adamsville.
Hunt scored 40 points in a pair of games against Division II-A West opponents.
