Week 6 Lohud girls soccer rankings

All records through Oct.9

1. Somers (13-0-0, previous ranking: 1): The Tuskers were busy with four games this week, but started it right with a big 5-2 OT win over North Rockland on Monday and remain perfect.

2. North Rockland (10-2-2, previous ranking: 3): The Red Raiders took unbeaten Somers to OT before losing, but bounced back with wins against Clarkstown North and Clarkstown South.

3. Pearl River (10-1-1, previous ranking: 2): The Pirates were a little shaky this week, tying Tappan Zee and beating Clarkstown North by only a 1-0 score.

4. Byram Hills (10-2-1, previous ranking: 4): The Bobcats are starting to round into form as sectionals approach. Jessica Kennett had been a scoring machine since moving up to forward from her usual holding midfielder role.

5. Arlington (10-3-0, previous ranking: 6): The Admirals got wins over John Jay-Cross River and Ketcham this week before losing a tough 1-0 game to a very good Goshen squad on Thursday.

6. Bronxville (9-3-1, previous ranking: 7): The Broncos won both of their games this week, defeating persistent squads in Ardsley and Pelham.

7. Albertus Magnus (10-2-0, previous ranking: 8): The defense and goalkeeper Kaitlyn Kreider came up big this week for the Falcons for a pair of 1-0 wins over Nanuet on Tuesday and Briarcliff on Thursday.

8. Suffern (9-2-1, previous ranking: 5): The Mounties suffered their first two losses of the season, a surprising 4-1 beatdown from Clarkstown South on Tuesday and a tough 1-0 loss to Scarsdale on Thursday.

9. John Jay-East Fishkill (9-3-1, previous ranking: 9): The Patriots got consecutive 2-0 wins this week, beating Carmel on Tuesday and Mahopac on Thursday.

10. Briarcliff (10-2-1, previous ranking: 10): The Bears saw their month-long unbeaten streak end on Thursday with a close loss to Albertus Magnus.
