1. Colts Neck (5-0-1, 1st)
The Cougars are one of four unbeaten teams in the Shore Conference this season and they’ve allowed a total of two goals in their last three games. Bridgette King led the team in scoring with 10 goals and four assists and the best player in the Shore Conference Frankie Tagliaferri isn’t too far behind with nine goals and three assists. Colts Neck could go undefeated in the regular season.
2. Freehold Township (5-0, 2nd)
The Patriots remained in the undefeated club with a 5-0 win over Middletown North and a 3-2 victory over Manalapan. The Class A North division looks like it is going to come down to how the Patriots fare against Freehold as the two Class A North rivals have yet to play each other this season. Nicole Whitley led the team with eight goals and four assists.
3. Toms River North (5-0-1, 3rd)
The Mariners remained in the No. 3 position after going 1-0-1 in their last two games. After tying Brick Memorial last week, it looks like the Mariners next big game is against Toms River South on Sep. 29. That game will definitely factor into which Toms River team wins the Class A South division. Nikki Logan led the team in scoring with one goal and six assists while Krystal Hund had five goals and one assist.
4. Wall (4-2, 6th)
After losing its first two games of the season, the Crimson Knights are one of the hottest teams in the Shore Confernece with four straight wins. The most recent victory was a 1-0 thriller over Red Bank Catholic as Katie Hyde scored the game-winning goal in the 42nd minute. It was Hyde’s second goal of the season, while Amy Pasternoster had four goals and two assists.
5. Shore (4-2-1, 9th)
After starting the season 1-2, the Blue Devils have tied Red Bank Catholic, 2-2, and defeated Ocean, 2-1, to jump up to the No. 5 spot in this week’s rankings. Shore has now gone 1-1-1 against teams in the APP top 10 this season. Keep an eye out for freshman sensation Frankie McDonough, she had a hat trick in a 9-0 victory over Ranney. Katie Stephens had five goals and four assists and Shannon Bonner had two goals and seven assists.
6. Ocean (5-1, 5th)
The bid for an undefeated season ended with a 2-1 loss to Shore, hence the slight drop in the rankings this week, but the Spartans are a very good team with a solid season resume that includes a 2-1 record against teams in the APP top 10. The Spartans might be the most balanced team in the Shore Conference as eight players have scored at least one goal. For the season, Carla Anderson had three goals and two assists, Sydni Graves had three goals and one assist and Talia Pritzlaff had two goals and two assists.
7. Rumson-Fair Haven (4-1-1, 7th)
The Bulldogs remained in the No. 7 slot for the second straight week after going after going 2-0-1 in their last three games. Because of a 2-1 loss to Ocean, the Bulldogs remain behind Ocean in the rankings for now. For the season, Grace Forsyth had six goals and three assists and Grace Karagjozi had four goals and five assists.

8. Freehold (3-1, 4th)
The Colonials tumbled in the rankings due to a 2-1 loss to unranked Howell on Sep. 16. After that loss, Freehold rebounded with 1-0 and 3-2 wins over Middletown South and Middletown North, respectively. If the Colonials want to stay in the Class A North race, they will have to beat or at least tie Freehold Township when the schools play each other. Thus far, Ashley Latona had three goals and Emma Smith had three assists.
9. Brick Memorial (3-0-2, NR)
The Mustangs make their debut in the APP top 10 this week after an impressive start to the season. Brick Memorial has victories over Donovan Catholic, Southern and Brick and has tied Hunterdon Central and Toms River North. Thus far, Lindsay Hernandez had two goals and three assists and Taylor Schaad had three goals.
10. Holmdel (3-2, 8th)
The Hornets suffered a heartbreaking 5-4 loss to Rumson-Fair Haven in a Class A Central showdown on Sep. 18 and thus fell in this week’s rankings. The rematch will be Oct. 8 at Rumson-Fair Haven. That loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Hornets. Meanwhile, Hannah Lee had seven goals and two assists and Gabriella Bair had six goals and three assists.
Dropped out: No. 10 Red Bank Catholic (2-3-2).
Others receiving votes (in no particular order): Manalapan (3-1), St. John Vianney (3-1-1), Toms River South (3-1), Toms River East (3-1), Point Boro (6-1).
