Jean Giuliano, 91, sank her first hole-in-one just one day after her eldest son lost his battle with cancer. Giuliano holed out the eighth at Flanders Valley Blue, a short par-3, on July 5.
Giuliano had taught all eight of her children to play golf, and is a long-time member of Fairmount Country Club. Jean and her sons, Peter and John, celebrated the accomplishment, along with the the course rangers.
Mark Giuliano, one of Jean’s sons and the head pro at Fairmount, had a feeling there was a mystical factor going on at that eighth hole.
“I think it brought some good to the situation, divine intervention it could have been,” he said in a press release.
