Edison 10, J.F. Kennedy 5: Bianca Newsom went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Nikki Gresh was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI to lead 17th-seeded Edison (4-15). Laura Flynn went 3-for-4 for the Eagles while getting the win, as she gave up three earned runs on seven hits. Edison will face top-seeded South Plainfield in the round of 16 on Sunday at South Plainfield. Ashley conroy and Becky Genoa each had two hits for 16th-seeded J.F. Kennedy (7-13).
Woodbridge 7, Carteret 2: Winning pitcher Carly Kjersgaard gave up two unearned runs on six hits for 14th-seeded Woodbridge (11-12). Justine Stefura went 3-for-4 and Taylor Greco was 2-for-3 with three RBI as the Barrons will face third-seeded J.P. Stevens in the round of 16 on Sunday at South Plainfield. Caitlin Kelly went 2-for-3 for 19th-seeded Carteret (6-15).
South Brunswick 17, Highland Park 1 (4 inn.): Jaime Klemas went 4-for-4 with a double, three RBI, and two runs and Leann Panconi fired a two-hitter, striking out nine and walking none, to lead ninth-seeded South Brunswick (13-6). Carly Rybinski, Ashley Shor, Meaghan Reeder, and Jordan Schatzman all had two hits each for the Vikings. Rybinski scored four runs and Shor drove in three. South Brunswick will face eighth-seeded Dunellen in the round of 16 on Sunday at South Plainfield. Sydney McManus-Smith doubled for 24th-seeded Highland Park (10-9).
