already has received scholarship offers from at least a dozen major college programs over the past several months, along with a few basketball offers.
He recently decided to name a group of early favorites.
The five-star rising junior wide receiver from Oak Ridge (Tenn.) High School isn’t ready to begin narrowing down his increasingly lengthy list of college choices, but he released an early top 10 last week coming off back-to-back visits to nearby Tennessee.
Higgins’ list of early favorites includes Florida State, Ohio State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, North Carolina and LSU, in no particular order.
“That’s just the top 10, just for right now,” said Higgins, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 27 overall prospect and No. 6 wide receiver in the 247Sports Composite for the 2017 class. “I was just (naming a top 10) just to do it.”
The 6-foot-4, 184-pound Higgins attended camps at Alabama and Ole Miss in early June before recently visiting Tennessee three times in a span of less than two weeks. He participated in the Vols’ camp June 18 before returning just two days later to attend their “Orange Carpet Day.”
