Mansfield fired coach Glen Hall after a winless season, the fourth-year coach confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
Hall joined the Wolverines staff as an assistant in 2010 and led them to three straight playoff appearances, capped off by the school’s first postseason win since 2001 against Jena in 2014. But a big graduating class and a season-ending injury to First Team All-Area wide receiver Jimmie Jones led to disaster in 2015.
“We had injuries all season and you lose somebody like Jimmie, you lose a lot,” Hall said. “I lost 15 seniors last year coming into this season.”
Mansfield lost four of its ten games by six points or less, including a 19-14 loss to North DeSoto before Jones’ injury and a 3-0 loss to District 1-3A rival Loyola in Hall’s last game.
