Game: 7 p.m., Thursday, Patriots Stadium.
Jamboree: HAN lost 28-0 to Ascension Episcopal; NV lost 20-6 to Abbeville.
Last year: HAN 6-5; NV 5-7.
Players to Watch: HAN – QB Britt Young; RB Brant Broussard; NV – QB Dade Dieterich, LB-RB Dylan Dent, RB/FS/PK Caleb Castro.
Matchup: The Patriots ran the ball effectively in jamboree, but didn’t finish and didn’t protect the quarterback well.
“We’re definitely still trying to solidify some things,” NVHS coach Richard Prejean said. “We ran the ball decent. After they marched it down and scored on us, I was most pleased by the fact that we answered by putting together a drive. But then we turned it over (on downs) at about the 8.
“The effort was good, but we definitely need to work on our passing schemes. Our protection broke down.”
Lagniappe: Defensively, Prejean is concerned about Hanson QB Young. “They have some pretty good skill guys. They have a dual threat quarterback. He scares me. They’re a little thin with a lot of guys going both ways, but they definitely have some kids that can hurt you.”
