It’s tough enough to throw one no-hitter, let alone two in a row, but Hauppauge, N.Y., left-hander Nick Fanti, did just that and he’s on the mound Tuesday at Bellport (Brookhaven) with a chance at a third consecutive no-no.
The Marist signee is 3-0 this season, allowing only two hits, both singles, in 19 innings with 38 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.95.
On April 13, he had 16 strikeouts and faced the minimum 21 batters in a 6-0 no-hit defeat of Huntington. He walked one batter but picked him off first.
On April 7, he had 11 strikeouts in a 7-0 no-hit defeat of Glenn (East Northport), walking only one batter.
