Cade Risch drove in the final two runs Saturday as the host Bulldogs rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat the visiting Pioneers in the first game of a doubleheader.
Zak Witzberger, Camron Romine and Robbie Waddell scored runs, and Aidan Dyer had an RBI ahead of Risch’s heroics. Risch had two hits, and Kole Brooks added a double.
Starter Zac Morris and winner Dyer combined on an eight-hitter. Dyer pitched the final 11/3 innings, giving up one hit while striking out one and walking one. Morris allowed seven hits and two earned runs, striking out four for the Bulldogs (4-2).
The Pioneers won the second game 7-2.
Jackson Kaiser pitched the first four innings and took the loss. Waddell had a hit and a run scored, and Brooks had a hit and an RBI.
