With Kyle Dobbins and Zeke Ennis leading the way, St. Augustine throttled Cedar Creek 46-6 in a Cape Atlantic League interdivisional football game on Thursday.
St. Augustine (8-1), the American Division champions, took a 16-0 first quarter lead on a 53 yard TD jaunt by Dobbins and a 9-yard touchdown pass from Jose Tabora to Jaylan DeCoteau, sandwiched around Ennis’ 1-yard plunge and two-point conversion run.
Dobbins finished with a game-high 187 yards rushing while Ennis scored twice in the third quarter from 19 and 37 yards out as the Hermits pulled away from the National Division champion Pirates (9-2).
• Ocean City 43, Pleasantville 12: Dan Henderson rushed for three touchdowns and Owen Naplacic scored twice on the ground for the Red Raiders who claimed the Mike Slaveski-Bob Thomas Memorial Trophy and a 48-41-6 lead in the series.
• Absegami 28, Oakcrest 7: The Braves took the Joe Mohr Trophy on the strength of a 21-point first half. Ibn Wilkerson, Vinnie Nelson and Andy Ifreke scored from 1, 40 and 8 yards out, respectively, as Abesgami increased its series lead to 21-18. Kendall Elliott scored on a 14-yard run and kicked the PAT to avert a shutout for Oakcrest.
• Atlantic City 32, Holy Spirit 10: Jamir Prevard scored touchdowns of 11 and 23 yards, and hooked up with Doug DeBerry on scoring strikes of 44 and 15 yards to power the Vikings to a 51-32-4 lead in the series and the John Boyd-Stan Marczyk Memorial Trophy.
• Middle Twp. 33, Lower Cape May 6: The Anchor Bowl Trophy will rest in the Panthers’ trophy case thanks to Jula Illa, who snared a 35-yard pass from Matt Harris for a touchdown and scored on a 5-yard burst into the end zone. After the Tigers took a short-lived 6-0 lead on a 1-yard plunge by Tony Pratts, the Middle Township offense got rolling, behind Jesse Godwin’s 13-yard touchdown run and subsequent two-point conversion rush.
