High school baseball game starts Monday and aims to end Wednesday

JSerra and Servite played four hours Monday and still couldn’t determine a winner in the Trinity League baseball game.

The game was called because of darkness going into the 14th inning with the score tied at 2-2 on Monday.

The teams will pick Wednesday and hope to finish before starting a second game between the two schools.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Servite pitchers didn’t allow a run after the second inning, thanks in part to Jake Pries, who pitched seven scoreless innings of relief. Serra stranded 17 runners, including leaving the bases loaded in the 13th before the game was called.

Serra didn’t allow a run from the fifth inning after Tanner Smith’s two run single.
