Best Matchups

Shadow Mountain (5-1) and Corona del Sol (3-1) are coming off big momentum-boosting weekends with Shadow Mountain having Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep down much of the game, before falling 66-63 a day before Corona del Sol gave Las Vegas Bishop Gorman its first loss 76-74 in the Desert Challenge at Scottsdale Solano Ranch Prep. Shadow Mountain is ranked No. 1 and Corona del Sol No. 2 by azcentral sports in this week’s Super 10. Both teams will be playing St. Anthony, which has won 27 New Jersey championships and four national championships under legendary coach Bob Hurley, the father of Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley.

Stick Around

The very last game of the showcase, Saturday night, between Hillcrest and API, features two start-up prep academies that could feature four future NBA players. Ayton, Ferguson, Preston and Duval all are among the top players in the country in their respective classes. Duval has offers from Arizona, Louisville, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Kansas and Maryland among many. Ayton had 24 points, 19 rebounds and four blocks in Kentucky against Thon Maker and Athletes Institute in a win.
