Holt senior Tara Lierman had a record-setting year on the court and leads the list of area girls players recognized on the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan all-state teams.
Lierman was one of 11 players named to BCAM’s Best of the Best team that highlights the state’s top players regardless of class.
DeWitt’s Abby Nakfoor and Claudia Reid were named Class A all-state, while East Lansing’s Danni Hanson, Mason’s Autumn Kissman and St. Johns’ Maddie Maloney were tabbed honorable mention in Class A.
Haslett’s Makenna Ott and Karson Tripp and Williamston’s Sarah Schultz were first team in Class B. Corunna’s Skylar Napier, Ionia’s Anna Riccius, Portland’s Olivia Roe, Williamston’s Renee Sturm and Ionia’s Jaylynn Williams earned Class B honorable mention recognition.
In Class C, Mikayla Duflo of Carson City-Crystal and Hannah Thelen of Pewamo-Westphalia were named to the first team and Bath’s Tessa Hosford and Saranac’s Kaylee Hardy were selected honorable mention.
Morrice’s Courtney Wolf was the lone area player honored in Class D and was tabbed honorable mention.
The BCAM all-state team is based on players nominated by their BCAM member coach.
