I do not usually post any of the numerous fliers we get for charitable golf outings, there are too many for me to handle, but I don’t usually get a heartfelt request from a mother whose son is suffering from a rare genetic disorder.
So if you have a vacation day left and you want to play an underrated course, please consider signing up. Here’s the note I received from Lauren Domitrovits …
“We are hosting a golf outing benefiting The A-T Children’s Project (a non-profit) at Trump National Golf Club – Hudson Valley, in an attempt to save our son who suffers with a rare, genetic disease that is ultimately fatal. Established in the United States in 1993, the A-T Children’s Project is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that raises funds to support and coordinate biomedical research projects, scientific conferences and a clinical center aimed at finding life-improving therapies and a cure for ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T). A-T is a rare, genetic disease that attacks children, causing progressive loss of muscle control, cancer, and immune system problems.
I am writing to you in the hopes that you may consider donating to our silent auction, sponsoring this event, sharing details or joining us. Why? Because my son deserves a chance at life and as a mom, I am trying to do anything I can to fund the research to hopefully save his life and preserve his quality of life. We are trying to build our silent auction and corporate sponsorships. Any donation would be tax deductible of course.”
