CORNELIUS, N.C. — The Hough Huskies bounced back from a lopsided loss to Butler with an impressive 28-0 victory over rival Hopewell.

The Huskies got things going in the first quarter when Jarrett Nagy pounded the ball into the endzone from one yard out, making it 7-0. Later, Nagy fumbled going into the endzone, and Hopewell recovered the loose ball, remaining within one score of Hough.

The third time was the charm for Nagy in the red zone, as he plunged into the endzone from one yard for the second time, giving Hough a 14-0 lead. Just before the half, Jackson Gibbs connected with Sean Hershey from 14 yards out to give Hough a 21-0 halftime lead.

Miles Aldridge’s Hough team will get a week off before visiting preseason favorite Mallard Creek on October 9th. The Titans will host Mallard Creek next week in a crucial game for the team’s playoff hopes.
