While he’s already committed to Cal, Oak Grove wideout Jordan Duncan is making others take notice after the Warriors 2-0 start. The four-star receiver capped off another solid performance last Friday in a loaded Dandy Dozen matchup against Laurel.
Here’s a look at how the top 12 players in the state fared in their Week 3 games.
Jordan Duncan, WR, Oak Grove: Against Laurel, the Cal commit recorded six receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown, helping the Warriors to a 41-21 victory.
Jack Abraham, QB, Oxford: The Tulane commit was 36-of-69 passing for 479 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in a 31-29 loss to Madison Central.
Benito Jones, DT, Wayne County: The Ole Miss commit had 11 tackles (six for loss), a sack and three QB hurries in Wayne County’s 35-31 win over Meridian.
Octavious Cooley, TE, Laurel: In a 41-21 loss at Oak Grove, the Ole Miss tight end commit had three receptions for 61 yards and 1 touchdown.
Jeffery Simmons, DE, Noxubee County: Simmons had nine tackles, including one for loss, a sack and forced a fumble in Noxubee’s 10-6 loss at Aledo (Tx.).
A.J. Brown, WR, Starkville: West Point’s defense keyed in on the four-star receiver, limiting Brown to four receptions for 29 yards in Starkville’s 16-0 road win.
Keon Howard, QB, Laurel: The Memphis commit was 6-of-27 for 152 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in a 41-21 loss at Oak Grove.
Justin Connor, ATH, North Panola: In a 45-6 win over Benton County, Connor had seven carries for 69 yards and two touchdowns.
D.K. Metcalf, WR, Oxford: The 6-foot-4 receiver had two carries for seven yards and five receptions for 57 yards in a 31-29 loss to Madison Central.
Kobe Jones, DT, Starkville: Jones had four tackles (three solo) in the Yellowjackets 16-0 win at West Point.
Raekwon Davis, DT/OT, Meridian: Official stats were not made available for Davis in Meridian’s 35-31 loss at Wayne County.
Nigel Knott, CB, Germantown: Did not play – injured.
