Through seven weeks of the 2015 high school football season, several members of the Dandy Dozen are close to reaching major milestones.
Laurel dual-threat quarterback Keon Howard is just over 500 yards away from reaching 10,000 career passing yards. Four-star receivers D.K. Metcalf and Jordan Duncan each have six touchdown receptions while A.J. Brown is averaging 14.5 yards per catch and not too far away from recording another 1,000-plus yard season.
Below is a breakdown of how the members of the #Dandy12 performed in Week 7.
Jordan Duncan, WR, Oak Grove: The Cal commit hauled in two touchdowns for 44 yards in Oak Grove’s 38-14 win over Petal.
Justin Connor, ATH, North Panola: Connor picked up 252 yards rushing on 16 carries for two touchdowns in a 30-28 loss at Palmer. On defense, the Ole Miss commit recorded five tackles and one pass break-up.
Jack Abraham, QB, Oxford: The Tulane commit was 17 of 20 passing for 261 yards, five touchdowns and one interception in a 50-7 win at Saltillo.
D.K. Metcalf, WR, Oxford: Metcalf picked up four receptions for 88 yards and three touchdowns.
Keon Howard, QB, Laurel: The Memphis commit threw four touchdowns and one interception for 227 yards in a 45-0 shutout of Natchez.
Octavious Cooley, TE, Laurel: The Ole Miss commit had two receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown in the Golden Tornadoes 45-0 win vs. Natchez.
Raekwon Davis, DL/OL, Meridian: The Alabama commit recorded two sacks, two tackles and two assists in Meridian’s 34-13 win against Pearl.
A.J. Brown, WR, Starkville: The four-star receiver doubled his touchdown production in Starkville’s 30-7 win vs. Northwest Rankin, hauling in two TDs for 109 yards on three receptions.
Kobe Jones, DL/OL, Starkville: The four-star product anchored the Yellowjackets defensive line that only gave up one touchdown and held Northwest Rankin to 59 yards passing.
Jeffery Simmons, DE, Noxubee County: Injured and did not play in the Tigers’ 22-12 win vs. Kosciusko.
Nigel Knott, DB, Germantown: The four-star corner had 12 tackles and one interception in Germantown’s 16-5 loss at Grenada.
Benito Jones, DT, Wayne County: Stats were not made available.
