H.S. football poll: Coldwater, Marshall move up

Heading into the final week of the regular season, a pair of Interstate Eight Conference rivals continue to climb the state rankings according to the Michigan Associated Press prep football poll released Tuesday.

In Division 3, Coldwater (8-0) moved up to No. 6 following the Cardinals’ 30-7 victory over Charlotte. The I-8 champions close out the regular season Friday at Adrian (2-6).

Also in Division 3, Marshall (7-1) jumped one spot to No. 8 after the Redhawks defeated rival Harper Creek, 42-0. They next visit Division 5 No. 2-ranked Portland (8-0) on Friday.

In Division 8, Climax-Scotts (8-0) held on to the No. 5 ranking after the Panthers’ impressive 48-7 victory over Spring Lake. They close out the regular season Friday at New Buffalo (3-5).

In the 8-Player Division, St. Philip (8-0) stayed at No. 3 thanks to a 45-20 win over Portland St. Patrick. The Fighting Tigers finish up the regular season Friday at No. 2-ranked and defending state champion Lawrence (8-0).
