MILTON – Cait Dabagian found the back of the net 15 minutes into Milton’s matchup with Mount Abraham and the Yellowjackets edged out a 1-0 win in high school girls soccer on Wednesday.

Kaleigh Goulette dished out the assist on Dabagian’s game-winner and Madison North earned the shutout with five saves for Milton (4-1).

Zoe Cassels-Brown and Kamille Snell split time in goal for the Eagles (1-4) combining for five saves.

U-32 4, Mount Mansfield 1: Aine Kennedy pumped in a hat trick and host U-32 pulled away for a win over Mount Mansfield.

Ashley Mekkelsen also scored for the Raiders (3-1), while Liz Aitchison, Cilla Wanzer and Maggie Kirby added assists. Goalie Natalie Lavigne finished with eight saves.

Macey Wissell notched the lone goal for the Cougars (4-1) and Anna Burke stopped 10 shots.

Rice 1, Middlebury 0: A Grace Miller through-ball set up Anna Schibli for the decisive goal in the 55th minute as Rice edged Middlebury.

Hannah Miller stopped 13 shots for the Green Knights.

Riley Fenster and Molly Campbell combined for 22 saves for the Tigers.

Rutland 3, Burlington 2: Visiting Rutland got goals from three different players as it clipped Burlington.

Hilary Kamyk, Emma Macpherson and Brooke Woodard, who struck for the winner, provided the offense while Loren Henderson finished with five saves in the win for the Raiders.

Abigail Feeney had a goal and an assist, Reeve Flynn also scored and Norah Mitchell finished with six saves for the Seahorses (1-4).

•Colchester 2, South Burlington 1: Colchester struck twice in the first half to emerge with a win over South Burlington.

Clara Johnston and Greetje Scheller each had a goal for the Lakers (5-0), while Autumn Hathaway and Brenna McMannon each dished out an assist.

Annika Nielsen had the South Burlington (0-4) goal.

•BFA-St. Albans 3, North Country 1: Three players struck for goals and BFA-St. Albans downed host North Country.

Keannah Dunsmore, Emma Hill and Emily Lowell each scored for the Comets (2-2). Jessie Casey stopped four shots.

Faith Gosselin tallied for the Falcons (3-2) and Roxann Downing had eight saves.

Oxbow 1, Hazen 1: Jamie Stevens scored midway through the second half to help Oxbow draw with host Hazen.

Alex Ferland opened the scoring in the 31st minute for the Wildcats (1-3-1), who got 25 saves from Kira Hislop.

Jessica Daigle made 10 saves for the Olympians (2-2-1).

St. Johnsbury 5, Peoples 0: Grace Cooke and Katherine Cowan each scored twice to power host St. Johnsbury’s shutout win over Peoples.

Lia Rotti added the final goal for the Hilltoppers (3-1). Michele LeBlanc and Audra Shield-Taylor combined for five saves.

Lake Region 4, Danville 1: Jenna Charland, Molly Horton, Megan Menard and Kayla Poginy each found the back of the net as host Lake Region built a four-goal lead to drop Danville.

Cecilia Chamul scored for the Indians on a penalty kick with 51 seconds left in the game.

•BFA-Fairfax 0, Enosburg 0: BFA-Fairfax and Enosburg battled to a scoreless tied at Enosburg.

Kayla Westover made 10 saves in goal for Enosburg, while Brianna Mossey stopped eight shots for the Bullets.

The Hornets move to 1-2-1 and BFA-Fairfax is 3-1-2.


South Burlington 2, Essex 1: Joan Vera scored South Burlington’s first goal and set up the game-winner as the Rebels rallied to beat host Essex.

The Hornets’ loss, their first since Sept. 13, 2013, ended the program’s 34-game unbeaten streak.

Katie Hall netted the decisive tally for South Burlington (4-0) while Liz Sargent made five saves and Grace Hoehl added an assist.

Avery MacGillivray opened the scoring for Essex (3-1) in the 18th minute. Goalie Mady Corkum finished with five stops and Sarah Smith added a defensive save.

•Champlain Valley 1, Mount Mansfield 0: Kate Machavern found the back of the net in the first minute of the game and Champlain Valley held off visiting Mount Mansfield.

Kelsie Saia had an assist for the Redhawks (3-1) and Tashia Pashby-Rockwood made four saves to earn the shutout.

Jess Peura stopped seven shots for the Cougars (1-3).

Burlington 3, Middlebury 2: Fiona McSweeney produced a hat trick to fuel visiting Burlington’s victory over Middlebury.

Katherine Becker and Thu Pham recorded assists for the Seahorses, who got five saves from Devin Libby.

Lauren Bartlett and Mikayla Foster scored for the Tigers. Lily Smith and Tajah Marsden provided assists, and Katie Billings (three saves) and Sophia Chicoine (four saves) split time in net.

Mount Abraham 2, Colchester 1: Host Mount Abraham scored each side of halftime to top Colchester for its first win of the season.

Evan Laurent and Danielle Bachand tallied for the Eagles (1-3). Danielle Morse and Samantha Bruce combined for two saves in goal.

Courtney Phelps struck for the Lakers (0-3) in the second half and Abby Ladd denied 10 shots.


Essex 3, Burr and Burton 2 (OT): In a contest that was scoreless at halftime and tied 2-2 after 80 minutes, visiting Essex used a one-touch volley from Tristan Salgado 35 seconds into overtime to trim Burr and Burton.

Salgado also scored on a 20-yard volley in the 45th minute. Collin Asoera doubled the Hornets (3-2) lead in the 56th minute and served the cross that set up the game-winning goal. Brendan Bean made five saves in the win.

Wes Lord knocked in both goals for the Bulldogs.

Colchester 2, Rutland 0: Chris Zamarippa scored twice, getting on the end of a Patrick Desmond free kick and converting a penalty, to propel host Colchester past Rutland.

Thomas Colgrove earned the shutout with six saves for the Lakers (3-1-1). Ryan McKay made seven saves for the Raiders (3-3).

Winooski 10, Richford 2: Ahead 4-1 at the break, visiting Winooski rolled past Richford behind a five-goal performance from Abdullah Abdulaziz.

Eh Man added three goals and three assists for the Spartans, Bishal Limbu and Sujit Khatiwoda tacked on a goal and an assist each. Abbas Abdulaziz recorded two assists, and Abdi Ali Mohamed (two saves) and Barrat Ghaley (four saves) split time in net.

Ethan Letendre and Alvaro Cardona each tallied for the Falcons and Colby Coons turned away 17 shots.
