SOUTH BURLINGTON – Patrick O’Hara scored the go-ahead goal 12 minutes into the second half and South Burlington topped Burlington 2-1 in high school boys soccer action Saturday night.
Amza Issa set up O’Hara’s winner on a direct kick, and Tyler Ayers turned back seven shots for the Rebels (5-1).
Seraphin Iradukunda gave BHS (5-1) a 1-0 lead, 20 minutes in, and Niels Arentzen made four saves.
South Burlington’s Ben Lambert struck on a penalty kick for a first-half equalizer.
•Essex 2, Mount Mansfield 1: Essex opened up a two-goal lead and then held on to beat host Mount Mansfield.
Collin Asoera and Alex Benevento each had goal for the Hornets (4-2) before Wyatt Gilbert-Barker tallied for the Cougars (0-5). Gilbert-Baker also rang a shot off the goalpost late in the second half.
Paul Federico had seven saves for Essex, while Josh Graning stopped seven shots for MMU.
•Champlain Valley 4, Spaulding 1: Cooper O’Connell had a goal and an assist as Champlain Valley downed visiting Spaulding.
Will Yakubik, Todd Boisjoli and Max Akey each chipped in goals for the Redhawks (4-0). Aidan Johnson and George Davis combined for three stops.
Brad Romeo made 10 saves for the Crimson Tide (2-4) and Justin Laperle scored the team’s lone goal.
•Winooski 2, Enosburg 1 (2OT): Eddy Lamson struck for the winning goal in the second overtime in Winooski’s win at Enosburg.
Eh Man knocked in a penalty kick for the tying goal for Winooski.
Parker Snow had Enosburg’s tally.
Winooski’s Abdulmalek Abdulmalek made 12 saves, the same total as Enosburg keeper Adam Martin.
•Northfield 3, Peoples 2 (OT): Manny Mercado struck with 90 seconds left in the first overtime period to push visiting Northfield past Peoples.
Garrett Bean (assist) and Jackson Clayton also tallied for the Marauders (5-0-1) and Bryce MacDougall made 10 saves.
Tucker Judkins and Cameron Kelly each scored for the Wolves while Aidan Coles made 12 saves.
•Colchester 4, BFA-St. Albans 0: Autumn Hathaway and Tabitha Myers each tallied as Colchester remained unbeaten with a win over BFA-St. Albans.
Gabby Gosselin made four saves to earn the shutout for the Lakers (6-0).
Jessie Casey stopped nine shots for the Comets (3-3).
•Middlebury 1, Mount Abraham 0: Annina Hare scored late in the first half to help Middlebury to a win over Mount Abraham.
Hannah Buttolph and Hannah Lawrence each had an assist on Hare’s tally and Riley Fenster made nine saves for the Tigers.
Mount Abraham’s Kamille Snell stopped nine shots.
•Essex 2, Mount Mansfield 0: Essex’s Hannah Bovee stopped all seven shots she faced to shut out host Mount Mansfield.
Megan Macfarlane and Jessica Poratti each had a goal for the Hornets (4-2).
Emma Parent made five saves in net for the Cougars (4-2).
•Milton 2, Vergennes 0: A goal in each half pushed visiting Milton past Vergennes.
Tatum Shappy and Brooke Caragher each tallied for the Yellowjackets (5-1).
Anya Sonwaldt had eight saves for Vergennes (3-3), while Madison North registered three stops.
•Champlain Valley 9, Spaulding 0: Sydney Jimmo and Megan Gannon each scored twice in Champlain Valley’s rout of visiting Spaulding.
Catherine Cazayoux, Jackie Casson, Sierra Morton, Signey Shumway and Ali Bisaccia also tallied for the Redhawks (5-1).
Lindsey Lapan and Randi Dudley combined for 16 saves for the Crimson Tide.
•Rice 6, Missisquoi 0: Sarah Boland recorded a hat trick and Rice seized a win at Missisquoi.
Grace Miller, Molly McCabe and Haley Mitiguy also tallied for 3-2 Rice.
Jenna Boudreau stopped 16 shots for the Thunderbirds and Hannah Miller and Abi Jacunski split goalkeeping duties for the Green Knights.
•Montpelier 2, Lyndon 1 (OT): Cricket Basa knocked in her seventh goal of the season and Montpelier dispatched Lyndon in overtime.
Among Alison Chadwick’s saves was a key stop on a Lyndon penalty kick.
•U-32 6, Lamoille 0: Aine Kennedy and Liz Aitchison each scored twice in U-32’s night home win over Lamoille.
Madeline Smart and Cilla Wanzer and Aine Kennedy also scored for U-32 (4-1). Natalie Lavigne, Jayden Hudson and Lauren Morse combined on three saves in the shutout.
•Peoples 5, Northfield 3: Jamie Barrett scored twice in the first half and Peoples slipped past visiting Northfield.
Sofia Carlson had a goal and an assist and Lilly Netzler and Amber Everett also tallied for PA (4-2).
Catherine Miles had two goals and Courtney Amell’s second-half tally leveled the score for Northfield before PA pulled away.
Peoples’ Beronica Tatro and Northfield’s Jordan Chamberlin each made eight saves.
•North Country 2, St. Johnsbury 1: Meila Buck knocked home a penalty kick with five minutes to go to give North Country the narrow victory over St. Johnsbury.
Faith Gosselin scored the first Falcons’ goal and Roxann Downing had 10 saves.
Grace Cooke scored for the Hilltoppers and Audra Sheild-Taylor made six stops.
•BFA-Fairfax 3, Richford 1: Three players found the back of the net for visiting BFA-Fairfax in a win over Richford.
Megan Domina, Selena Marrier and Abby Howard scored for the Bullets (4-1-2), while Macy McNall and Hannah Corrigan each dished out an assist.
Christina Jewett had the lone goal for Richford (3-2-1).
•Enosburg 2, Hazen 1: Brooke St. Onge had both goals for Enosburg in a narrow victory over Hazen.
Cassie Collins had an assist and Kayla Westover made six saves for the Hornets.
Becca Whipple tallied Hazen’s goal and Kira Hislop stopped six shots.
•Williamstown 2, Rivendell 1: Colleen Sheridan scored in fifth minute and Jayme Ducharme added an insurance goal that stood up as the game-winner against visiting Rivendell.
•Oxbow 1, Lake Region 0: Jamie Stevens converted a first-half feed from Claire Cooke to lift host Oxbow (3-2-1) to a narrow win over Lake Region.
•Champlain Valley 2, Middlebury 0: Kate Machavern scored a goal in each half as Champlain Valley shut down visiting Middlebury for the win.
Lydia Maitland earned the assist on Machavern’s second tally and Tashia Pashby-Rockwood was credited with five saves for the Redhawks (3-1).
Katie Billings made 12 stops in net for the Tigers.
•Mount Mansfield 2, Essex 2: Visiting Essex scored with one minute left in regulation to salvage a tie against Mount Mansfield.
Jenna Puleo struck for the equalizer, Erin Murphy also scored and Mady Corkum made eight saves for the Hornets (3-1-1).
MMU built a 2-1 second-half lead on goals by Perry Willett and Maeve Poleman. Jess Peura corralled 16 shots for the Cougars (1-1-3).
•U-32 5, Harwood 1: Jasmine Moody scored twice, Elle Stroh had a goal and an assist and host U-32 improved to 5-0.
Kaitlyn Morrissett and Sam Fielder also scored and Quillyn Peterson turned back six shots for the Raiders.
Harwood’s Maddie McGeorge and Caitlin O’Kelly earned six saves.
