Vestal’s girls were unable to cash in on two late opportunities and fell by 10-9 to visiting South Jefferson in non-league lacrosse Wednesday.

Union-Endicott opened the scoring with two straight goals, but Juliet Miettunen scored a hat trick and Kylie Sposito and Marci Huddle added a goal apiece to go up 5-2. The Tigers scored again, but Sposito answered the goal with less than a minute left in the half.
Horseheads 8, Plattsburgh 4: At Plattsburgh, Jeff Stowell batted 2-for-2 with three RBIs in a non-league game to help push Horseheads to its third straight win. The Blue Raiders scored eight runs on as many hits while holding Plattsburgh to seven hits.
