H.S. Softball: Bison score easy win

Buffalo Gap broke open a tie game with an eight-run outburst in the fifth inning Monday as the Bison whipped East Hardy, West Virginia, 14-4 in the first round of the Strasburg Tournament.

The teams were deadlocked 4-4 going into the pivotal fifth inning.

Emily Chandler ripped a grand slam and walked twice to spark the Bison. Natalie Wheeler had a triple.

Katy Simmons pitched the first three innings, giving up four runs and three hits, while striking out five and walking one. Mary Beth Strickler earned the victory with four innings of relief. She allowed no runs and two hits, while fanning seven and walking one.
