Athletic achievement: He raced to the Class AAA individual state championship this past season with a time of 14:11. The state’s returning Gatorade Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year, Reiser is one of just four prep boys nationwide to earn All-American honors at both national title races. He placed sixth at the Nike Cross Nationals Final in 15:26, and was eighth at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in 15:20. Reiser also won the NXN Midwest Regional championships with a time of 15:01.9 and took third at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional championships.

Academic excellence: Reiser has maintained a 3.67 GPA.

Exemplary character: A peer tutor in his school, he has volunteered locally on behalf of area road races and community clean-up initiatives.


“Jesse trains hard, is quick to learn, very coachable, and extremely dedicated to the sport,” said McHenry coach Beth Czubik. “His passion for competing and knowledge of running allow him to excel at any challenge he faces.”

THE FUTURE: Reiser has signed with Illinois.
