The Arlington High School boys and girls indoor track and field teams swept their respective league titles for a 15th consecutive year at Sunday’s Section 1 League A meet at The Armory Track and Field Center in New York.
The boys won the meet with John Jay following in second place. The girls were followed by Lakeland/Walter Panas and John Jay.
“It’s a credit to the kids. When they get the opportunity, they make the most of it. You have to ask people to get job done at the league meet in several events, and they did,” Arlington coach Steve Arnett said.
Bella Burda won the 1,500- and 3,000-meter runs to lead the Arlington girls. Other winners for the Admirals were Kylie McFall (600) and Hayli Pregnall (triple jump).
For the Arlington boys, James Asselmeyer took first place in the 600 and Conor Stack was first in the 3,200.
The Admirals also triumphed in the boys 3,200 relay (Skyler Rubin, Alex Wang, Mark Richter, Eric Sbrollini) and the girls 1,600 relay (Annie Geiger, Allie Coon, Molly Sobolewski, McFall).
