Berea sophomore running back Travis Hagood played against Carolina in Week 1 and then was injured in the Bulldogs’ game against Powdersville in Week 2.

Berea lost star senior running back Stevie Williams to an injury in the preseason, and his replacement, sophomore Travis Hagood, was injured in Week 2 against Powdersville.

Bulldogs coach Wayne Green said Tuesday that neither Williams nor Hagood will play when Berea (2-1) begins Peach Blossom AAA Region play Friday at Southside (3-0).

The Bulldogs proved to be deep at running back in their 26-19 Week 3 victory at West-Oak.

Senior Jordan Choplin carried 26 times for 126 yards, and junior D’Mazia Davis rushed for 86 yards on 11 attempts, including touchdown runs of 1 and 52 yards.

“Sometimes you’re as deep as you’ve got to be,” Green said.
