Cortland pulled away in the second half and defeated Ithaca High, 67-48, in non-league boys’ basketball action on Tuesday at Culligan Court/Bliss Gym.

Six-foot-4 junior Nick Craig scored a game-high 18 points for the Tigers (11-2), out of Section 3, who’ve won 10 straight. Sage Brown, a 6-4 senior, chipped in 15 points and 6-10 junior center Chris Luke added 13 points.

Ithaca (7-6), which has lost four straight since its seven-game win streak ended, got nine points each from Jordan Ayers, Trevel De Aragon and Sammy Meminger.

Ithaca will look to get back on track Friday at Elmira.

Girls basketball

Union-Endicott 44, Ithaca 42: On Tuesday at Endicott, Nicole Kaczmarczyk scored 13 points and blocked four shots for the Tigers in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference basketball victory over the Little Red.

Victoria Mattarell and Kristen Coyle contributed valuable 3-point goals against Ithaca’s zone in the fourth quarter. Kayla Prosinski added eight points with two 3-pointers for the Tigers.

Tatiana Minnick scored 12 points for the Little Red, which hosts Elmira on Friday.

Southern Cayuga 59, Spencer-Van Etten 43: At Southern Cayuga, three players scored double-digit points to lead the Chiefs in an Interscholastic Athletic Conference game. SC jumped to a nine-point lead after the first quarter, as Alex Heatherington hit two 3-pointers during that time and finished with 12 points.

Emily Kopp scored a game-high 17 points for the Chiefs (8-5) and Adrianne Torea followed with 15. Dalia Rorick and Morgan Brock led Spencer-Van Etten with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
