Palmetto (Fla.) quarterback Jack Allison could get a chance to play with two of his future University of Miami wide receivers before the trio even gets to Coral Gables.
Allison will play in the Under Armour All-America Game on Jan. 2 in Orlando along with fellow Canes commits Sam Bruce from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale and Dionte Mullins of Gulliver Prep in Miami.) Bruce is seemingly mulling other options, including Ohio State.)
Allison received his honorary jersey for the game this week when the Selection Tour presented by American Family Insurance came to his school. His parents, coaches and classmates attended the event.
The 6-5 Allison, who committed to Miami in June 2014, is ranked as the No. 5 pro style QB and No. 79 player overall by ESPN.
“It’s really just a dream come true, just watching it since I was 11 years old up until now,” Allison said. “It’s a surreal feeling. There were so many great players that have played in the game, I remember watching it and just saying ‘Hey, I want to play in that game,’ it’s just an unbelievable feeling to be a part of this.”
While Manatee County in Florida will be well-represented at the game by a large contingent from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Allison is the first non-IMG player from the county in the UA game since current University of Florida cornerback Brian Poole in 2012.
