TRENTON – Jackson Memorial’s Brody Graham ignited a rally of three consecutive pins that rallied the Jaguars to a come-from-behind 33-27 victory over Clearview Regional Sunday, giving the school a chance to capture its seventh state wrestling sectional champsionship later today.
Jackson Memorial, which will face Phillipsburg in the state Group IV final at 6 p.m., trailed 18-9 and was down 21-15 when Graham took the mat for the 285-pound bout. He stopped Ryan Malone in 22 seconds, tying the score.
Matt McGowan at 106 pounds followed with pin in 1:08 over Lucas Giumarello and Mike Spino made it a hat trick with a match-clinching pin over Ayush Patel in 2:35 at 113 pounds. Jackson Memorial (18-5) forfeited the final bout at 120.
The sequence of pins at 285, 106 and 113 was identical to the winning surge the Jaguars rode in their sectional championship victory over Brick Friday night.
Phillipsburg (17-1) won its semifinal 59-6 over Roxbury.
