The Jeffersonville Red Devils moved to .500 on the season behind a dominant ground attack, beating the Providence Pioneers 42-12 on Friday night.
Jeffersonville took the lead three minutes into the first quarter and never trailed. Jordan Barnett scored from 2 yards out with 8:57 left in the first quarter and Kameron Fuller added a 5-yard run with 46 seconds left in the period to put the Red Devils up 14-0.
The second quarter was much of the same from Jeffersonville (3-3). Quarterback Cameron Northern scored on runs of 5 and 7 yards, and the Red Devils found themselves 28-0 with :37 left in the first half.
Providence (2-4) received a spark going into halftime off a halfback pass from Aaron Flanagan to Trevor Hedlman for 49 yards, but unfortunately for the Pioneer’s, that momentum was short lived.

On their first play of the second half, Northern found Isaiah Blanton for a 71-yard strike, and the Pioneer’s fate was sealed.
Providence attempted to mount a comeback late in the game off a pair of forced turnovers. Alex Roderer narrowed the margin for the Pioneers in the fourth quarter with a touchdown run, but Isaiah Blanton scored the dagger with 6:32 in the fourth quarter on a 28-yard reverse.
