Enka’s roster is filled to the brim with 10 juniors.
Rayshawn Little stood out more than just a little Friday for the Jets boys basketball team.
Little had a career high for scoring in a 78-64 road win over Reynolds.
Here’s where things get interesting.
The Rockets’ scorebook was the official one (as the home team) and had Little with 46 points. But the Jets credited him with 51, including seven 3-pointers.
In either case, Enka’s school record for single-game scoring is 55 points and was established three years ago by Taylor McCurry, the 2012 Citizen-Times All-WNC Player of the Year.
“Rayshawn really carried the team tonight,” Jets coach Brian Carver said.
“I’m very proud of him. The great thing about this game is he wasn’t trying to do too much.”
Cole Williams also had nine points in the first Mountain Athletic Conference win for the Enka boys (10-5, 1-3).
Evan Gillis scored 16 points to lead the Rockets (7-7, 0-3), who also got 13 from Rico Dowdle.
