As it turns out, Washington Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall will be vying for two basketball titles this summer; one in the NBA and one on the prestigious adidas Gauntlet.
Wall, who validated his first selection as a starter in the NBA All-Star game with 19 points, seven assists and three rebounds in the East’s, 163-158, loss to the West on Feb. 15, unveiled his brand new AAU program – Team Wall – via his Twitter Friday afternoon.
Wall joins an extensive list of NBA stars who have started their own AAU programs including LeBron James, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony.
Team Wall will be coached by Kendrick Williams, who coached Wall in AAU and high school. Williams will also serve as the program’s director.
“I’m excited to assist John with fulfilling his dream of giving back to his state through the game of basketball,” Williams said. “Team Wall will be built on the foundation and principles that helped mold John into the young man he has become. I’m all in!”
Here’s how Wall got it done during his AAU days.
