Jones Co. gets rain delay rematch vs. #1 HoCo

Houston County is undefeated and out in front of everyone in region 2-AAAAA.

The Bears will try to extend that lead over the weekend against Jones County. “HoCo” and “JoCo” met earlier this week, but after two and a half innings, rain pushed the game back to this weekend.

With a 4-1 region record, Jones County is looking up at the Bears right now. The Hounds would love to knock Houston County off that top spot with a win.

“You pretty much know what you’re going to get when you face [Houston County],” Greyhounds’ head coach Jason Page said before Thursday’s win against Washington County. “It’s going to be a good baseball team with good defense. They swing the bat well, and they have good pitching on the mound. You pretty much know you’re going to have to bring your ‘A-game’ every time.”

Houston County handed Jones County its only region loss of the year, and one of two losses overall. The Hounds host Saturday at noon.
