The Mountain Home Lockeroom suffered its first Zone 2 loss of the season, committing five errors and dropping a 6-4 decision to the Jonesboro Ricemen on Friday night at Jonesboro.
Lockeroom managed just four hits, with Cole Anderson, Brody Ninemire, Matt Robbins and Kyle Stephens each picking up base hits for Mountain Home. Dillon Groves was 2 for 4 to lead Jonesboro.
Ryan Czanstkowski took the loss on the mound, allowing just five hits but also six walks for Mountain Home. The right-hander struck out three and allowed just three earned runs over 41/3 innings. Hayden Hall struck out two and did not allow a hit over the final 12/3 innings.
Jonesboro’s Kollin Stone walked eight batters but struck out five and allowed just three hits over five innings of work. Mason Gibson struck out four and gave up only one hit over the final two frames for the Ricemen.
After Jonesboro scored a run in the first, Lockeroom tied the score in the top of the second when Jake Berton scored on a groundout by Stephens.
Jonesboro plated three in the second for a 4-1 lead, but Mountain Home rallied with two of its own in the top of the third on a bases-loaded walk and a passed ball.
Lockeroom knotted the score in the fourth as Robbins singled and later tagged up on a sacrifice fly Sky-Lar Culver. Jonesboro got the run back in the bottom of the fourth and added one more in the fifth.
